BANGOR – The Bangor Police Department reminds motorists that due to the Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race on Saturday, April 16, there will be several traffic detours established, as well as some hazards of which to be aware.

. Inbound traffic on Broadway will be diverted at Six Mile Falls onto the Finson Road to Ohio Street between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. To avoid congestion and delays, motorists should use the McCarty Road to Ohio Street.

. All traffic on Valley Avenue will be diverted onto Bruce Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bruce Road will be closed to traffic turning from Kenduskeag Avenue, except to resident of Bruce Road.

. Six Mile Falls bridge will be reduced to one lane and will be heavily congested with pedestrians. Drivers are asked to proceed slowly with extreme caution when approaching this area.
