The NFL’s Chicago Bears signed University of Maine defensive back Brandon McGowan to a contract following the conclusion of the team’s rookie and free agent mini-camp this weekend.

McGowan was a first-team All-Atlantic 10 pick after leading the Black Bears with 101 tackles. He also had 31/2 sacks, three interceptions, and one forced fumble. McGowan will now have a chance to win a roster spot at the team’s preseason camp in July and August.
