Police arrested two Bangor teenagers Thursday morning in connection with a burglary on Larkin Street and said the pair may be connected to another burglary at the same residence on Wednesday.
Michael Kelley, 19, and a 17-year-old male juvenile, were seen peering in a window by a neighbor. The neighbor had been asked by the owner to keep an eye on the Larkin Street house after it had been broken into on Wednesday, according to a police report.
Three Bangor police officers arrived at the residence and found the two suspects out back. They were then handcuffed and taken to Penobscot County Jail, according to the report. The teenagers admitted to being inside the house, police said.
The homeowner reported a camera missing after the Wednesday burglary, which is still under investigation.
A Franklin man was arrested Wednesday night on multiple charges at Barnaby’s nightclub in Bangor.
Willy Cottle, 23, approached a police officer in the lobby of the Odlin Road nightclub and asked him to hold his drink while he went outside, according to a police report.
After Bangor police Officer Erik Tall told Cottle that drinks could not leave the bar area, Cottle returned his drink and again approached Tall, this time punching him in the stomach.
When Tall told the man to leave and not return, Cottle refused, according to the report. As Tall escorted him outside, Cottle continued to be uncooperative and was arrested.
Cottle was issued three summonses for assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass. After refusing to sign any of the summonses, he received a fourth for refusing to sign a uniform summons and complaint.
A Brewer man was arrested Tuesday night for disorderly conduct after police questioned him in connection with a broken window at a Bangor restaurant and the man became uncooperative.
Thomas Costain, 21, his 18-year-old girlfriend and another young man were stopped by Bangor police shortly before 10 p.m. on Washington Street. An employee at the Whig & Courier Pub had reported a broken window and the trio was in the vicinity of the restaurant at the time.
All three denied any involvement in the broken window, but Costain argued with police and tried to leave the scene on a bicycle after being warned several times to stay put, according to police reports.
Three officers were needed to detain Costain, who had been drinking, and he was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to Penobscot County Jail.
Bangor police responding to a domestic argument early Wednesday morning arrested a Bangor man who reportedly threatened to kill his girlfriend.
Herbert Maset Jr., 50, told police he had been drinking all night and came home to a First Street apartment he shared with his girlfriend, only to find the door locked.
The woman was sleeping at the time, shortly after 1 a.m., but was awakened when Maset finally got inside. She told police that he threatened her, but added that Maset had no reason to be upset since he had his own key.
Maset repeatedly referred to his girlfriend as a “crazy bitch,” according to Officer David Bushey’s police report. The officer determined that the woman was in danger so Bushey arrested Maset for criminal threatening.
Maset’s bail conditions stipulate that he not have any contact with his girlfriend or return to the First Street apartment.
