Red Pear Tomatoes distributed to wholesalers that are restaurant suppliers by California Specialty Produce Inc., because they may have been contaminated with salmonella, which can be fatal in young children and ill or older people. The half-inch-long, pear-shaped tomatoes were distributed to restaurant suppliers in Los Angeles and Denver and to New York suppliers in the Bronx and Yonkers.
