Former UM pitcher Fisher joins Sea Dogs

Former University of Maine pitcher Pete Fisher was transferred from the Single-A Wilmington Blue Jackets to the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, a Boston Red Sox affiliate, the Sox announced Friday.

Sea Dogs righty David Pahucki was transferred to Wilmington to accommodate Fisher on the roster.

Fisher, 27, pitched at UMaine during the 1996 season before transferring to Alabama. He posted a 5-8 record with a 3.92 ERA that season. He was drafted in 1998 by the Minnesota Twins in the fourth round. He was 1-2 with six saves and a 2.37 ERA in 15 games with Wilmington.
