The Maine Wildlife Park in Gray will host a number of interesting program over the spring and summer months.
On June 11, visitors are invited to join artist Joe Bolf for a chainsaw wood sculpture demonstration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bolf began woodcarving in 1972 with chisels and has been using a chainsaw for about 15 years.
A summer series of wildlife exhibits and demonstrations targeted at the general publci will be offered throughout the season. Wildlife Days are held on consecutive weekends in mid-May, June, July and August and are sponsored by the Friends of the Maine Wildlife Park.
Presenters featuring a variety of wildlife topics will set up exhibits and run demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on most Saturdays.
Three popular night visits will also be offered, during which the park will be open on moonlit evenings.
On July 23 a “Creatures of the Night” hike is planned, on Aug. 20 an “Owl Prowl” is on tap, and on Oct. 14 a “Halloween Night Hike” is scheduled.

Babb to speak in Searsport
James Babb, the author of Fly Fishing Fool, the Adventures, Misadventures and Outright Idiocies of a Compulsive Angler, will appear at Left Bank Books in Searsport on June 10.
Babb will speak and sign copies of his book beginning at 7 p.m.
Babb is the editor of Gray’s Sporting Journal and author of River Music and Crosscurrents. He was born and grew up in east Tennessee and lives in Searsport.
