Christian Science healer to speak

BANGOR – National speaker and full-time healer Kari Mashos, a Christian Scientist, will speak on “Taking Charge of Your Thinking” at noon Tuesday, June 21, at Bangor Public Library, 145 Harlow St.

In today’s fast-paced world people seem to be constantly barraged by messages of fear, noted members of the Christian Science Reading Room. Meanwhile, people are finding that years of abuse may be healed by forgiveness; reaching a certain age does not mean living a restricted life; and the constant cacophony of modern life does not mean that one can’t think clearly and find peace of mind.

Mashos will explore these ideas and practical solutions on how to break free from destructive thinking, move from abuse to forgiveness, and recognize that God’s loving care is always available to help.

Mashos will explore:

. How to break free from negative thoughts.

. Practical prayer-based solutions to everyday problems.

. How thought can change experience.

Drawing on her own experiences, Mashos helps audiences explore how to connect more deeply with a spiritual source. When she was a child, her father walked out, leaving the family homeless and penniless. She went to live with a relative who encouraged her to learn and explore.

She studied music and a book titled “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy. The first put her on the road to success as a professional opera singer; the second helped her to work through her father’s abandonment and taught her about a spiritual system that could heal.

Mashos is a national speaker and full-time healer using that universal system of healing, Christian Science.
