Bangor council, committee meetings scheduled

BANGOR – Following are city meetings and other activities for the week beginning today. All will be held in the City Council chambers at City Hall unless otherwise indicated.

. Monday, 5 p.m., City Council finance committee meeting, agenda includes citywide garbage collection contract, agreement with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regarding Hows Corner hazardous waste cleanup site; 5:30 p.m., budget workshop to consider two public works positions and additional funding for Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau and list of potential budget reductions.

. Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., grand reopening and ribbon cutting, Color Concepts, 55 Hammond St.; 3:45 p.m., water district trustees, agenda includes Hughes building roof repairs, timber management plan, proposed payment sites at Bangor Savings Bank branches; 5 p.m., council’s transportation and infrastructure committee, agenda includes Station Maine request to camp on city property, proposed Penjajawoc-Mall Management Commission, designation of two city delegates to new regional transit advisory committee; 7 p.m., planning board, agenda includes final subdivision plan for Hampden Home Builders’ subdivision off Mount Hope Avenue, conditional use and site development plan for Bangor Radiator and Service Center at 541 Maine Ave., contract zone change for Varnbro Corp. on Broadway and Hillside Avenue, site development plans for new police station at corner of Main and Cedar streets and for Eastern Maine Healthcare planned group development and office building at 931 Union St.

. Wednesday, 5 p.m., recycling committee, 530 Maine Ave.; 5 p.m., budget workshop, if needed.

. Thursday, 2 p.m., Maine Gambling Control Board session; 5 p.m., community advisory group on Colonial Management Group’s methadone clinic, agenda includes facility status update.
