Rawcliffe shuts out Brewer in opener

HAMPDEN – Charlie Rawcliffe fired a four-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and no walks and singled twice to propel Hampden to a 9-0 Little League District 3 win over Brewer Wednesday.

Dakota Duplisse knocked a solo homer in the first and Ricky Snow doubled for the winners.

Tyler White had a pair of singles for Brewer.

Hermon 6, Lincoln 0

At Hermon, Cody Veilleux fired a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts for Hermon in the win.

Tyler Fournier doubled and singled while Aaron Jellison doubled for Hermon. Dean Watson added three singles.

Matt Thibodeau and Matt Voisine had a single apiece for Lincoln.

At Orono, Nick Cota hit a solo homer and Nick Peterson struck out 14 as the hosts rolled.

Christian Corneil doubled and singled while Tyler Eddy had a double for Orono-Veazie. Josh Storgaard singled twice.

Kyle McLain hit a solo homer for Orrington.
