Schultz, Holbrook nip Brewer Millinocket, Coastal, Ellsworth teams earn All-Star triumphs

BREWER – Thomas Schultz raced home with the game’s only run in the fourth inning to give Holbrook a 1-0 ages 11-12 District 3 Little League All-Star victory over Brewer Tuesday.

Schultz reached on a single and advanced to third on a throwing error and wild pitch. He then scored on Peter Schultz’s attempted sacrifice.

Peter Schultz was the winning pitcher as he struck out seven while losing pitcher Brandon Briggs struck out six. Mike Deschene added a single for Holbrook.

Tyler White singled twice for Brewer while Briggs and Jason Smith each added a single.

Millinocket 15, Old Town 4

At Millinocket, Brian Bouchard had two singles and two RBIs to lead Millinocket to the victory.

Aaron Cyr tripled three times and Brandon Bouchard socked three singles for Millinocket. Dylan Bouchard added two singles.

Brandon Cyr singled twice for Old Town and Casey Estes had a double.

Calais 15, Ellsworth II 7

At Calais, Tyler Morrison had two doubles and knocked in three runs while Logan Johnson hit two singles and plated three runs as Calais rolled past Ellsworth II.

Jordan Perkins notched a triple, two singles and scored three runs for Calais.

Jacob Poors had a pair of singles and scored twice for Ellsworth II and Matt Manheim hit two singles.

At Machias, Matt Clarke and Jacob McGuire each had a pair of singles to lead Ellsworth I (2-0) to victory.

Silas Davis added a triple for the winners.

Dustin Getchell doubled for 1-1 Machias.

Coastal 11, Acadian 4

At Deer Isle, Hayden Ciomei had three singles and three RBIs to lead Coastal to the win.

Sam Grindle added a two-run single for Coastal.

Keegan McKinn and Ben Walls each had an RBI single for Acadian.
