Bangor posts city meeting times

BANGOR – Following are city meetings for the week beginning today. All will be held in City Council chambers at City Hall unless otherwise indicated.

. Monday, 5 p.m., City Council personnel committee; 6 p.m., executive session to discuss appointments to cultural commission, planning board, ethics board; 6:15 p.m., executive session regarding labor negotiations with firefighters, airport ramp workers and aircraft dispatchers; 7:30 p.m., regular council meeting, agenda includes children’s dental clinic grant renewal, contract for crossing guard services, amendment to land development code chapter on chemical dependency treatment facilities, proposed council order prohibiting loitering in Abbott Square, Atler Court and Haynes Court parking lots, resolve in support of Friends of Dakin Pool, authorization for city manager to apply for and accept federal weapons of mass destruction funding for public safety equipment and to accept command vehicle from Maine Emergency Management Agency and to seek funds for additional equipment for it.

. Tuesday, 5 p.m., council’s government operations committee, agenda includes proposed no-smoking policy at city’s health and welfare department, notice of $33,000 matching grant award to upgrade a Fire Department training facility; 7 p.m., planning board, comprehensive plan update workshop, transportation systems.

. Wednesday, 5 p.m., council’s business and economic development committee, review of Bangor Radiator’s development plans for Maine Avenue, review of waterfront parking supply and demand and potential for adding additional parking to support new development, executive session regarding land negotiations; 7 p.m., harbor committee, harbor master’s office, presentation of Brewer, Bangor waterfront redevelopment plans, emergency medical response capabilities, update on waterfront improvement project.

. Thursday, 7 p.m., historic preservation commission, agenda includes consideration of projecting sign at Country Hearts, 81 Main St., facade painting and exterior wall lanterns at Penobscot Theater, 131 Main St., front deck repairs at 217 Broadway, covered porch enclosure at law offices of Dean A. Beaupain, 71 Broadway, building rehabilitation at Anastasia International Inc., 40 High St., addition of rear deck at The Tavern, 158 Main St.

. Friday, 7:30 a.m., commission for cultural development, art in public places subcommittee, agenda includes presentation by representatives of the Charles Howard Foundation of concept for monument, presentation by Marcia Bond of Bangor Savings Bank for bench in Norumbega Parkway in memory of Ronald Raymond, a city employee who died while working in the park.
