Coastal, Bucksport take titles

NORTHEAST HARBOR – Casey Hull lined a 1-1 pitch from Jasper Cousins up the middle after Cousins had walked the bases loaded with nobody out in the bottom of the eighth to give Coastal a 5-4 victory over the Acadians and the District 1 13-14 championship.

The game was started Tuesday night and suspended in the top of the seventh with one out due to fog.

Nick Saunders’ two-run single in the fifth tied the score at four. He had two other singles. Hull added two doubles and Adam Kaspala two singles.

Cousins singled twice and plated a run while Alex Woychik hit an RBI single for the Acadians. Bryce Alley notched a pair of singles.

At Bucksport, Tim Nason allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out seven to lead Bucksport to the shutout win over Coastal to claim the District 1 11-12 championship.

Nason hit an RBI double in the fourth inning for Bucksport and Tyler French had two singles, an RBI, and scored a run. Cody Miller and Cody Farrell both singled.

Charlie Pal and Jesse Dow each singled for Coastal.
