ASHLAND – Local police are hoping that members of the public may have information that could put a halt to a three-month series of thefts of computer equipment.
Cyr Martin, acting police chief at Ashland, said Monday that eight computer towers have been stolen from as many as six businesses in the last three months. One business alone has lost more than $3,000 because of the thefts.
“All they take are the computer towers,” Martin said. “Everything else is just left where it is.
“They break in to the business, wearing gloves, and just take the equipment,” he said. “We are looking for someone who may have purchased or was offered cheap computer equipment.”
