LEWISTON -Jennifer “Jay” Hartshorn, a top assistant at Syracuse University since 2001, has been named the new women’s cross country and track and field coach at Bates College. She replaces Sally Hirsch, who recently resigned. Hartshorn has worked in the NESCAC before, as an assistant at her alma mater, Colby College of Waterville, from 1996-99.
