ICU expansion

BANGOR – After years of planning and seeking approval from the state, Eastern Maine Medical Center has received approval from the Maine Certificate of Need Unit to expand the Intensive Care Unit by 12 beds.

“We’ve been watching our patient volume for months,” said EMMC President and CEO Deborah Carey Johnson. “We have determined that this growth in demand is not a short term jump, it’s a new reality. We’ve been increasing staff to care for the patients, and now it’s time to create some more room here to accommodate those patients more efficiently and more comfortably.”
