The Aug. 8 editorial cartoon angered me. It depicted an average American giving thought to the negative facets of our society as if to explain the hate directed toward us by radical Islam. Much was left out of this cartoon.
They also hate us because we use so much of the world’s oil to power the farm machinery that works to provide food to starving people.
They hate us because we send mercy ships around the globe to bring medical miracles to hurting people.
They hate us because we allow people of all nations to obtain top-quality education at our universities.
They hate us because we ship medicine and supplies to desperate people worldwide.
They hate us because Americans gave their blood to free Europe from the madman Hitler.
They hate us because we provide resources to rescue Russian submarines.
They especially hate us because we have a society so free and open that it was possible for them to murder 3,000 of our people.
Americans are generous and good-hearted. This quality makes us strong enough to stand up to hate.
