HERMON – Chris McInnis hit a two-out, two-run single in the top of the sixth inning Sunday to lead UBS to a 7-6 over Montville for the Bay League championship. Montville won Saturday’s first game on Saturday 4-3 and UBS won the second game Saturday 5-4.
In Sunday’s title game, James Gray and Bodie Abbott each hit a two-run single for UBS and McInnis tripled.
Ben Relyea tripled, doubled, and singled for Montville and George Tripp singled twice to knock in a run. Roland Littlefield hit a two-run double and Bob Withee added a two-run single.
In Saturday’s first game, Jamie Potvin hit an RBI single for Montville and Relyea had an RBI. Devin Potvin and Greg Thayer both singled.
McInnis and Jason Weymouth both doubled and singled for UBS and James Gray had an RBI single.
In Saturday’s second game, Steve Estes hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in McInnis from third and give UBS the win. Travis Tripp hit a two-run single and McInnis tripled. Chris McHale doubled.
Nate Hall tied the game in the sixth with a two-run single for Montville. Relyea hit three singles and scored twice and George Tripp singled and scored a run.
