ORONO – The University of Maine volleyball team was picked to finish second in the America East Preseason Poll, released Monday by the conference.

The Black Bears notched 29 votes, including one first-place vote, finishing behind defending conference champ Albany (36 votes, 6 first place votes). Albany edged Maine 3-2 in the America East final in 2004.
