Dirigo officials to tour state for campaign

A series of regional public forums will be held in September to find out how Maine people think health care should work in the state.

The “Health Care Listening Tour” is part of an effort to develop a state health plan aimed at making Maine the healthiest state. The forums are sponsored by Gov. John Baldacci’s Office of Health Policy and Finance. A similar series of forums was held in May.

The forum schedule:

. Sept. 8: Brewer, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Jeff’s Catering, 5 Coffin Ave.

. Sept. 8: Presque Isle, 5-7 p.m. University of Maine at Presque Isle, Campus Center, Allagash Room.

. Sept. 9: Calais, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Calais Motor Inn, Banquet Center, 203 Main St.

. Sept. 12: Lewiston, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. University of Southern Maine-Lewiston-Auburn College, Room 170 (ABC), 51 Westminster St.

. Sept. 12: Augusta, 5-7 p.m. Augusta Civic Center, Piscataquis-Sagadahoc rooms (2nd floor).

. Sept. 15: Portland, 8-10 a.m. University of Southern Maine, Hannaford Hall-Abromson Community Education Center.

. Sept. 15: Saco, 3-5 p.m. Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites, Conference Center, 352 North St.
