Activists using wolves

After reading the article, “Judge tells feds to aid wolves in Northeast” (BDN, Aug. 20-21), I was compelled to respond.

I’m from Michigan but have a camp in Springfield.

Wolves were introduced to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Shortly after the introduction of wolves, the animal rights activists pushed and got a law prohibiting shooting coyotes, in fear of mistaking a wolf for a coyote. Now what we have are pockets of wolves killing everything in their path and in between the pockets of wolves are overpopulation of coyotes hitting everything in their path.

Wolves are killing farmers’ livestock now, and all the small game is gone. Last year while deer hunting, when I ran across a deer track in the snow, there was always a wolf track behind it.

The animal rights activists’ goal is to stop hunting and one of their tools is to introduce wolves.
