Ashland rolls past CAHS Hornets goalie Nemer breaks school shutout record

ASHLAND – Ashley Nemer earned her 28th career shutout, besting the Ashland school record held by Alicia Michaud, as the Hornets blanked Central Aroostook 4-0 in schoolgirl soccer action Monday.

Whitney Flint scored two goals and assisted another for 2-0-1 Ashland and Kasie Boyd had a goal and an assist. Angela Belskis added a goal and Andrew Mayo an assist.

Nemer didn’t have to make a save as she faced only one shot.

Latisha Neece made 12 saves on 21 shots for 0-7 Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Caribou 7, Houlton 0

At Houlton, Makayla Gahagan knocked in three goals to lead Caribou past Houlton.

Jasmine Kirchner, Brianna Jones, Christy Zyblut, and Kristen Espling each scored a goal for the 1-1 Vikings. Sandra Schofield and Christine Savage had an assist apiece. Billie Martin stopped all seven shots she faced.

Nicole Manton stopped five of 12 shots for 0-4 Houlton.

Limestone 6, Hodgdon 4

At Hodgdon, Ellie Dunn scored three goals to spark Limestone/Maine School of Science and Math to victory.

Kelly Peers scored a goal and assisted on two others for the 4-1 Eagles. Lee Anne Kelly and Logan Cousins notched a goal apiece. Melanie Allen made nine saves on 16 shots.

Brianne McGary scored three goals for 4-2 Hodgdon and Megan Bither added a goal. Heather London stopped 17 of 25 shots and assisted on one goal.

Boys soccer

Caribou 0, Houlton 0 (2OT)

At Houlton, the Vikings and Shiretowners played to a stalemate through two overtimes.

Brad Ala stopped all 12 shots he faced for 0-1-1 Caribou.

Eben Thompson made eight saves on eight shots for 0-2-1 Houlton.
