Man indicted in Bangor stabbing

BANGOR – A man wanted for stabbing a Bangor resident in the neck last month has been indicted by the Penobscot County grand jury for elevated aggravated assault.

If convicted, Nicholas Sexton, 24, address unknown, faces up to 30 years in prison.

He was indicted Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a 35-year-old Bangor man early on July 31 in the parking lot of the Leadbetter’s Mini Stop at the corner of Hammond and Ohio streets in Bangor.

The victim was treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center and released the next day.

Deputy District Attorney Michael Roberts said Tuesday that Sexton’s whereabouts is unknown.

He and the others indicted by the grand jury are scheduled to be arraigned in Penobscot County Superior Court on Sept. 30.

In an unrelated case, three men were indicted for an attempted burglary earlier this month at an Old Town residence. One of the three allegedly had a gun.

Adam Love, 20, and Timothy Reardon Jr., 19, both of Old Town, and Roderick N. Russell, 20, of Carmel were arrested along with two juveniles after a neighbor of the home they were trying to break into called police.

If convicted on the attempted burglary charges, they each face up to 10 years in prison.

Reardon also was indicted on two counts of violation of condition of release.
