ORONO – The University of Maine will feature promotions and activities as part of football game days, starting with today’s 6 p.m. game against William Penn at Alfond Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to “Paint the Stadium Blue” today by wearing blue. It also is Youth Day as youth football and cheering groups, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will join the band and cheerleaders in forming a tunnel to welcome the team onto the field. A fireworks display courtesy of Blue Hill Pyrotechnics will follow the contest.

Activities will include the Black Bear KidZone, sponsored by Party Plus Equipment Rental, which includes inflatables, a dunk tank, a youth football field and other games, all hosted by Black Bear athletes. It opens 90 minutes prior to the game.
