Bangor organizes excellent tourney
I had the privilege of umpiring in the 2005 Senior Little League World Series held in Bangor a couple of weeks ago and wanted the community to know what an excellent tournament it hosted.
I have officiated in a number of state and regional tournaments and by far this has been the most enjoyable and rewarding. The people of Bangor, Maine, should be proud of all those involved in making this tournament successful, from the organizers, grounds keepers and especially all the volunteers.
You have a beautiful city and a great baseball facility. We would also like to give special thanks to the Chris Parker family of Bangor for the friendship and hospitality they showed all the umpires and their families.
Speaking as a Texan, Maine will definitely hold a special place in our memories.
We wish you continued success with this tournament and hope that it remains in Bangor for many years to come.
