ORONO – College Republicans will host conservative writer and activist David Horowitz today at the University of Maine and Wednesday at Bates College in Lewiston.
Horowitz is the founder of Students for Academic Freedom – studentsforacademicfreedom.org, a nationwide coalition of student groups dedicated to promoting intellectual diversity and academic freedom at colleges and universities around the country.
Horowitz created the Center for the Study of Popular Culture in 1988 and has written numerous books, including an autobiography, “Radical Son.”
In promoting “Academic Freedom Days,” Horowitz will appear at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Bangor Room, Memorial Student Union, University of Maine; and at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Edmund Muskie Archives, Bates College.
