Kyle Stilphen of Gardiner High School was the Pine Tree Conference football Class B player of the week last week. Stilphen scored three touchdowns, intercepted a pass, made seven tackles, and converted three PATs in Gardiner’s 27-25 win over Waterville on Sept. 24.

Arel Gordon

Arel Gordon of the University of Maine was named Atlantic 10 special teams player of the week on Sunday. Gordon returned a punt 57 yards for a touchdown Saturday in Maine’s 31-7 victory over Albany. It was his school-record third career punt return for a TD.
