Beyond Riesling

Looking for fine wine from the Rhine? Or the Mosel? Visit Opus at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, for a German and Austrian wine dinner, featuring six courses paired with five wines. Cheers to fall

Wine lovers, the wait is over – Cleonice Mediterranean Bistro in Ellsworth will resume its monthly wine dinner schedule with a tribute to Spain. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23. Chef Rich Hanson will prepare a five-course meal, including tapas, a saffron-rich Paella Valencia with Chicken, Rabbit and Escargot, and Grilled Lamb Tenderloin. Dinner costs $65 per person, tax and gratuity not included. For information or reservations, call 664-7554.

Harvest happenings

Sunnyside Greenhouse and Ingrid’s German Shop on Buck Street in Bangor will fete fall’s bounty during its harvest festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. The event will feature free refreshments, samples of locally raised fruits and vegetables and homemade food products. For information, call 947-4232.
