The First Congregational Church in Houlton and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Castine will observe Maine’s “Interfaith Sabbath Against Discrimination,” beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 23. Leaders say the event is designed to challenge members of the interfaith community to voice opposition to discrimination, register voters and provide absentee ballot applications. It will focus on the state’s anti-discrimination law, which will be the subject of a statewide referendum next month. Call 532-7165 or 667-4393.
