Now that weekend editions of the Bangor Daily News feature a six-page television section, how about adding a weekend books section? Bangor has an excellent public library and no shortage of bookstores.

At least 95 percent of TV fare is mind-numbing trash. We’d have a wiser, better-informed and more humane citizenry if more of us turned off our aptly named boob tubes and became readers of good books.
