BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

ZACH WILSON

The senior running back and linebacker for the Brewer football team rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns as the Witches advanced to the Eastern Maine Class B final for the second straight year with a 27-7 victory at Leavitt of Turner Center. Wilson also played a key role defensively as Brewer limited the Hornets to 203 total yards.

Small School (Classes C-D)

JUSTIN PHINNEY

The senior midfielder for the Bangor Christian boys soccer team assisted on three goals as the Patriots won their first state championship with a 5-0 victory over Richmond in the Class D final at Farmingdale. Phinney and BC also capped off the first undefeated season in school history, finishing with an 18-0 record.

GIRLS

Small School (Classes C-D)

AARIKA RITCHIE

The Lee Academy sophomore scored on a penalty kick in the first half to provide the only goal in the Pandas’ victory over Greenville in the Class D state championship game Saturday. Lee wrapped up its season at 18-0 and won its second state title in three years.
