On a roll

It’s official: Bob’s Seafood in Windham has Maine’s best lobster roll. The Maine Lobster Promotion Council was inundated with votes for 2005’s best, and Bob’s was a clear favorite. Last year’s winner, Castine Variety, was a close second. Bob’s Seafood is owned and operated by Bob and Paula Coppersmith and Tim and Dianne Mathieu. Tim Mathieu credits the roll’s simplicity – 1/4 pound of knuckle and claw meat and a little mayo – to its popularity. Bob’s is located on Roosevelt Trail in Windham. Talking turkey

Don’t let your gobbler get you – or your guests – down. Instead, learn how to safely prepare and serve a holiday bird during Sebasticook Valley Hospital’s “Let’s Talk Turkey” seminar. Chef Cathy Page and health educator Laurie Alexander will lead the “lunch and learn” session, which will take place from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the Pittsfield hospital. For information, call Alexander at 487-3890, Ext. 113.
