Charleston man charged after fight

A Charleston man was charged with disorderly conduct after a fight at a Bangor nightclub early Sunday morning, police said.

According to reports, Bangor police Officer Chad Foley met Sgt. Bob Bishop at 1:19 a.m. at Barnaby’s at the Ramada Inn on the Odlin Road. Bishop was speaking with a 22-year-old Bangor man who said he had been struck by Joshua Lord, 25, of Charleston.

The alleged victim reported that he was with two friends, male and female, when Lord made a rude comment about the woman and started to yell at the three.

Lord then threw several punches at the Bangor man, who suffered cuts to his lip and forehead, according to police.

After speaking with Foley, the victim and his friends began to leave the building. Foley then reportedly saw Lord run toward the three, yelling and gesturing. The suspect took a swing at the alleged victim. Foley arrested him and charged him with disorderly conduct. Lord was taken to Penobscot County Jail.

An accident in Old Town Saturday night left one person injured and another charged with drunken driving.

According to Officer Michael Holmes of Old Town Police, at around 9:15 p.m. Roger Dupuis, 52, of Old Town was driving a Toyota pickup truck down Center Street and was stopped at the intersection with Brunswick Street.

Dupuis thought he had enough time to turn onto Brunswick, but did not and struck the driver’s side of a Chevrolet Blazer driven by an unidentified Bangor woman who was traveling west on Center.

The woman did not suffer any injuries, but the passenger in the pickup, an unidentified male, was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. The exact nature of his injuries was not available Sunday night.

Dupuis was unharmed, but Holmes said he observed that the man was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him for OUI. The intersection was shut down for about 20 minutes.
