The road situation in Bangor is a public embarrassment. More than that it is a matter of public safety for its residents. Not only are the roads in abominable shape but so are the sidewalks.
Why doesn’t the municipal government do something about it? What is their excuse this time? In all probability it’s, “We do not have enough money to fix them.”
If that is the excuse, it is a poor one. Bangor’s residents are taxed where they live, where they shop and where they work. Unfortunately, these taxpayers seem to have little or nothing to show for these ever-increasing taxes.
Where is all the money going – for more and more overpaid and underworked bureaucrats? Maybe if the city fired a few of the so-called administrators, especially those who work for the bloated school budget, it would have enough money to repair the roads and sidewalks of this city. In reality this will happen when pigs sprout wings and learn to fly.
