George Stevens nips Narraguagus in OT

BLUE HILL – Marina van der Eb scored five of her seven points in overtime as host George Stevens Academy earned a 46-43 high school girls basketball win over Narraguagus Thursday.

Hannah Gray scored a game-high 23 points to pace the Eagles.

Amanda Ostberg scored 11 points for Narraguagus of Harrington, while Chelsea Baker added 10 points.

At Bucksport, the Golden Bucks limited Ellsworth to just one point over the game’s final 10 minutes to rally for the victory.

Lindsey Gordon paced Bucksport with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and hit six key fourth-quarter free throws.

Katie Hurd also had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Hillary Savage paced Ellsworth with 11 points, while Ginny Dalrymple added 10.

At Hermon, Makayla Gahagan’s free throw in the waning seconds forced overtime and Stephanie Schofield scored eight of her 14 points in the extra period as Caribou earned its first win.

Gahagan finished with a team-high 15 points, Schofield had her 14 and Kristen Espling had 13 points for the winners with Ali Richards contributing nine more.

Ashley Kelley had a game-high 22 points for Hermon and also grabbed eight rebounds. Cassie White had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Hillary Keith dished out five assists.
