ROCKLAND – Caitlin Hynes and Dana Clark sank two free throws apiece in the final 25 seconds as the Rockland Tigers held off the Waterville Purple Panthers, 51-50 in schoolgirl basketball action Tuesday night.

Hynes finished with a game-high 19 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, and Clark had 12 with seven of those coming in the final period.

Lindsay Barnes had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Baillie Boggs contributed nine rebounds for Rockland, which has won four in a row.

Danae Plaisted’s 13 points, Sarah Given’s nine and eight apiece from Jordan-Lee Van Dyne, Stephanie Whitten and Elizabeth Bell paced Waterville.

Jason Fitton scored 19 seconds into the second period on a Barrett Moore assist for the 7-1-1 Panthers and Nick Steward scored a short-handed goal in the second. Joseph Fonollosa and Nolan MacDonald combined to stop 25 of 32 shots.
