BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

SEAN BABIN

A forward on the Orono hockey team, Babin totaled four goals and an assist as the Red Riots defeated Messalonskee of Oakland and Waterville. Babin scored the game-winner in a 3-2 win over Messalonskee, and had two goals and an assist in a 7-2 win over Waterville that knocked the Purple Panthers from the undefeated ranks.

Small School (Classes C-D)

RYAN MARTIN

A senior captain on the Dexter boys basketball team, Martin averaged 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game in wins over Stearns of Millinocket, Penquis of Milo and Orono that improved the Tigers’ record to 6-2, good for fifth place in Eastern Maine Class C.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

MARY FALLS

The Old Town senior swam on three winning relays and won an individual event as the Indians held off Belfast 81-75 in a Class B dual meet Tuesday. Falls swam the breaststroke leg of the 200-yard medley relay, won the 200 freestyle, which is the event immediately after the relay, led off the 200 free relay and swam the second leg of the 400 free relay.

Small School (Classes C-D)

LINDSEY MINGO

Mingo, a Calais junior forward, averaged 14.2 points per game as the Blue Devils went 3-1 in the past week. She had 24 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-64 win over Lee on Jan. 5.
