Karst jumper lifts Ellsworth past MA Lynx

ELLSWORTH – Matt Karst hit a running jump shot from the elbow with less then a second remaining to lift the Ellsworth Eagles to their second victory over the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx this season, 54-52 in high school boys basketball action Friday night.

Ellsworth beat Mattanawcook 63-60 in Lincoln on Dec. 29th, and the Lynx hadn’t lost since then.

Karst finished with 15 points and Demetrios Katsiaficas tossed in 11 for Ellsworth. Anthony Britt added eight points and six steals.

Derek Libbey paced Mattanawcook of Lincoln with a game-high 19 points and Levi Slike scored 14.
