Pilot lands out-of-gas Cessna in emergency

BRUNSWICK, N.Y. – A small plane traveling from Maine to Albany made an emergency landing in a cornfield after running out of fuel Friday, state police said. The pilot, 45-year-old Michael Lessard of Sullivan, Maine, and a passenger, 36-year-old Richard Jordan of Lamoine, Maine, were unharmed.

The Cessna 150 took off from Bar Harbor and was scheduled to land at Albany International Airport. The plane, landing in the Town of Brunswick about 13 miles east, was not damaged.
