Online business support

January has marked a significant step forward in our effort to help businesses navigate licensing requirements and learn more about available state resources. In addition to the online information and services already available, business owners can now “chat” live online with the state experts who have the information they need.

In addition to the live chat, prospective businesses can use an online Business Licensing Assistant to learn what licenses they need and then print out the forms to apply. These two services are part of a broader effort to stimulate job growth by giving businesses the tools to prosper and grow in Maine’s new economy.

Small business people are the backbone of our economy, and small businesses are responsible for three out of every four new jobs created. These are exactly the type of investments we need to keep Maine moving forward. Supporting our business community is an important part of that process, because it puts people first and protects and grows Maine jobs.

You can use the live chat or Business Licensing Assistant by going to www.maine.gov/businessanswers.
