Sternberg lifts WA Raiders past Dragons

EAST MACHIAS – Jarred Sternberg scored a layup off a pass from Corey Colbeth with 0.5 seconds left to lift Washington Academy to a 56-64 high school boys basketball victory over Woodland Wednesday night.

Sternberg finished with 16 points while Mike Von Rotz added 13 points for the Raiders.

Chase Smith netted 21 points, including five 3-pointers, to pace the Dragons. Stephen Newell tossed in 12 points.
