Player awards

Ernest Turner

University of Maine senior guard Ernest Turner was selected as the America East conference co-player of the week for Feb. 27. Turner and Kenny Adeleke of Hartford shared the award this week after Turner led Maine to two wins while averaging 21 points and five rebounds per game. He also hit a half-court buzzer-beater Jan. 23 to beat University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Aecio Madeira

Thomas College’s Aecio Madeira was named North Atlantic Conference Co-Rookie of the Year. Madeira averaged 15.9 points and eight rebounds per game while leading the Terriers to the third seed in the NAC Eastern Division playoffs.

Toby Martin

Toby Martin of Thomas College was honored as North Atlantic Conference Co-Rookie of the Year. Martin averaged a conference-best 18.7 points per game while leading the Terriers to the third seed in the NAC Eastern Division playoffs.

Marisa Berne

Marisa Berne of Bowdoin College was named NESCAC Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Berne averaged 15 points and eight rebounds in the final two rounds of the NESCAC Tournament.

Justine Pouravelis

Justine Pouravelis of Bowdoin College was named NESCAC Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Pouavelis averaged nine points and 11.5 rebounds in the final two rounds of the NESCAC Tournament.
