Leclerc powers Polar Bear win

BRUNSWICK – Ricky Leclerc hit a double and drove in three runs to lead Bowdoin College to a 14-0 college baseball victory over the University of Maine-Farmington Wednesday.

Jared Lemieux doubled and singled to knock in two runs for Bowdoin and Ben Yormak doubled to drive in two runs. Chris McCann had two singles and scored three runs and Nick Lawler singled twice.

Seven Polar Bear pitchers combined on the four-hitter.

Tyler Hanson, Chip Burnham, Greg Melanson, and Cody Stackpole singled for UM-Farmington.

At Fort Myers, Fla., St. Olaf College pounded out 18 hits and scored 11 runs to take the win.

Nick Spillane and Roddy Ames both singled twice for Colby College. Spillane, Craig Cooper, and Andy Carr each drove in a run.

At Mesa, Ariz., David Nole hit a triple and two singles to drive in two runs and lead Massachusetts Institute of Technology past the University of Southern Maine.

Wayne Duggan had a triple and two singles for the Engineers.

Max Arsenault hit two doubles and two singles to drive in four runs for the Huskies of Gorham. Eddie Skeffington tripled and doubled with two RBIs.
