BANGOR – The Maine State Society, Children of the American Revolution, held its 54th annual meeting on April 8 at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor.
Kyle Holland, state president and member of the Moses Greenleaf Society in Bangor, presided at the state meeting. He reported on his state project, which was to raise money to benefit veterans at the Maine Veterans Home. He was assisted by Helen Newton, senior state president.
Members of the state society endorsed Samantha Duranko, New England vice president, as a candidate for national organizing secretary at the convention of the National Society, Children of the American Revolution, later this month in Washington, D.C. Duranko, a member of the Moses Greenleaf Society, is also past state president.
New officers elected for the state society were:

. Organizing secretary, Abigail Owen, Rev. John Fairfield Society.
. Treasurer, Shea Rose Spiller, Rev. John Fairfield.
. Registrar, Samantha Duranko, Moses Greenleaf.
. Historian, Kyle Holland, Moses Greenleaf.
. Librarian, Mackayla Keith, Moses Greenleaf.
New senior state officers installed were: president, Ron Newton; vice president, Laura Kwon; chaplain, Sonia Mallar; recording secretary, Margaret Campbell; organizing secretary, Suzan Rudnicki; treasurer, Helen Newton; registrar, Theo Walker; historian, Heidi Hoffmann-Coghill; and librarian, Windy Keith.
Honored guest at the meeting was Donna Dunbar Hoffmann of Bucksport, state regent of the Maine State Organization, Daughters of the American Revolution.
DAR chapters and the state organization sponsor the Children of the American Revolution, whose members are youngsters descended from someone who provided patriotic service during the Revolutionary War.
