Penobscot County Grant workshop

The Maine Community Foundation will hold a grant information workshop at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27, in the Lecture Hall at the Bangor Public Library. The free workshop will introduce the new guidelines and application process for the Community Building Program, the foundation’s largest competitive grant program to nonprofits located in Penobscot County. Foundation staff will provide information and guidance on grant writing and developing evaluations for project proposals.

Staff also will review the revised guidelines for the Penobscot Valley Health Association Fund, which it manages. The fund supports grass-roots organizations and start-up projects that propose ways to strengthen the health and welfare of Greater Bangor, within a 40-mile radius. The fund also supports projects focused on strengthening the internal capacity of organizations working on health and wellness issues. The deadline for applications to the Community Building Program and the Penobscot Valley Health Association Fund is Monday, May 15.

A reception will follow the workshop to allow nonprofit representatives to speak informally with colleagues and staff from the Maine Community Foundation. RSVP with Tim Williams at the Maine Community Foundation, toll-free at (877) 700-6800, or e-mail info@mainecf.org.
