BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

JIM COX

The Bangor senior pitched a two-hitter with 15 strikeouts as the Rams remained undefeated with a 9-0 victory at Lawrence of Fairfield. Cox is now 2-0 on the season with 22 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings for the 5-0 Rams.

Small School (Classes C-D)

TOM COLLINS

The Central of Corinth senior pitched a complete-game three-hitter with nine strikeouts and one walk to lead the Red Devils to a 12-2 win over Penquis of Milo, then had three singles and an RBI in a 6-2 victory over Dexter.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

NORI FRANCIS-MEZGER

The Hampden senior won four events as the Broncos scored 184 points to best three other teams at an outdoor track and field meet Friday. Francis-Mezger won the pole vault in 8 feet and had throws of 90 feet, 11 inches in the discus, 32-101/2 in the shot put and 109-7 in the javelin.

Small School (Classes C-D)

WHITNEY FLINT

Flint, a sophomore pitcher for Ashland, went 3-0 last week. Flint has 20 strikeouts and a 1.55 earned-run average (4 earned runs in 17 innings). Flint beat Van Buren, Southern Aroostook and Katahdin, She also went 5-for-10 (all singles) at the plate.
