HOWLAND – Principal Carol Marcinkus has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2006 at Penobscot Valley High School.

Class night exercises will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8, and commencement exercises will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 11, in the George Sereyko Memorial Gymnasium.

Roch Lachance, son of Roch and Laurie Lachance of West Enfield, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2006. He will attend the University of Maine in Orono to study biology/pre-dental.

He has participated in National Honor Society, orchestra, class council, student council, a Dirigo Boys State Delegate, basketball and soccer. He has received the Fredrick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Humanities and Social Sciences Award, the Maine Principals Award and is a four-year honors banquet participant.

Amanda Hallett, daughter of Bruce Hallett and Nancy Boyer of Howland, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2006. She will attend the University of Maine to study English.

She participated in National Honor Society, Girls State Delegate, volunteer for Meals for Me, senior class president, class council, band, soccer, basketball, cross country and tennis. She received the Daughters of American Revolution Award, the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award and is a four-year honors banquet participant.

Charity Robbins, daughter of Laurie Rufo and Daniel Robbins of Enfield, has been named first honor essayist. She will attend the University of Maine to study English. She has received the Williams College Book Award. She participated in class council, a Girls State Delegate, student council, National Honor Society and tennis.

Daniel Adams, son of Paul and Pam Ireland of Lowell, has been named second honor essayist. He will attend Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor to study computer-aided drafting and design. He participated in the honors banquet for two years.

Victoria Fullerton, daughter of Warren and Cori Fullerton of Howland, was named the third honor essayist. She will attend Husson College in Bangor to study nursing.
