Leland, Lonko power Coyotes’ win

SOUTH CHINA – Dana Leland hit three singles and a double to drive in five runs and lead Old Town to a 10-3 high school baseball victory over Erskine Academy Thursday.

Nathan Lonko hit three doubles and knocked in two runs for the Coyotes. Chris Brewer doubled and singled, and Cory Estes doubled.

Josh Carrier had a single and an RBI for the Eagles and Alex Oliver singled and scored a run.

At Dover-Foxcroft on Wednesday, Nick Lancisi tripled and singled to knock in four runs and lead Foxcroft Academy past Mattanawcook of Lincoln.

Brad Bellamare doubled, single and knocked in three runs while Josh Pelletier added an RBI double for the Ponies.

Tyler White had three singles and an RBI and Aaron Flannery an RBI single for the Lynx.

At Machias, Mark Little hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to give Machias the win.

Garrett Getchell doubled for Machias and Little added a single.

James Stauffer hit a double and two singles to drive in a run for Washington Academy of East Machias and Takao Kurose had three singles and an RBI.

At Bar Harbor, Mike Smith had three singles and four runs batted in and righthander Pat Kelley tossed six innings of four-hit, two-run baseball.

Smith’s two-run single keyed a four-run first inning that gave the Eagles a lead they would never relinquish and he had another two-run single in the three-run second.

Rick Trombley doubled for the winners, who capitalized on 12 walks, two hit batsmen, and four MDI errors.

Taylor Valarik singled twice for the Trojans and Kyle Shea doubled.

At Jonesport, Steph Seeley drove in four runs on two singles and Steph Perry tossed a four-hitter with eight strikeouts in five innings as the Blue Devils remained undefeated.

Calais was the home team but the squads played at Jonesport because of field conditions.

Darcey Gillespie of Calais tripled for two RBIs and Ashley Allen doubled and knocked in two runs.

Rachel Church singled twice for the Royalettes.

At Machias, Kayla Wood allowed just two runs on one hit and four walks while striking out 11 to lead Washington Academy of East Machias past Machias.

Carilla Fritz tripled and doubled for the Raiders. Ashley Tilton had two singles including an RBI single in the fourth inning and Meagan Look also singled twice.

Christiannah Holmes hit an RBI single in the first inning for Machias.

At Harrington, Lona Sargent doubled and singled with four RBIs to highlight an 11-run third-inning rally for the Tigers of East Sullivan.

Hollie Stanwood added two doubles and a single with four runs scored and two RBIs in the five-inning contest, while Nicky Sargent doubled and singled twice with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Whitney Page pitched a one-hitter for Sumner, striking out five and walking just one.

Amanda Ostberg had Narraguagus’ lone hit, a first-inning single.

At Rockland, Megan Blais tripled and doubled to drive in four runs and lead Oak Hill of Sabattus to the win.

Audrey Pellitier had two singles and three RBIs for Oak Hill. Shannon Safford and Kristen Eaton both singled twice and Becca Roberts doubled and scored two runs.

Dana Clark hit two singles and scored three runs for Rockland and Michelle McCorrison hit a two-run single in the first inning.

At Waldoboro, Courtney Turner hit a double and two singles to help lead Winslow to victory.

Jenn O’Jala and Erin Sweeney each had two singles for Medomak Valley.

At Bar Harbor, Catie Cravens allowed just two hits and no walks and struck out five to earn the shutout win for Ellsworth.

Cravens singled twice to drive in a run for Ellsworth and Emily Miller had two singles and a run scored.

Nia Megquier and Lynne Bowden singled for Mount Desert Island.
