Devils’ Libby no-hits Schenck

CORINTH – Alyssa Libby pitched a no-hitter, striking out 13 and walking none, as the Central Red Devils shut out Schenck of East Millinocket 12-0 in high school softball action Monday.

Hillary Haney hit a solo home run to go with a single and a double, totaling four RBIs for the Red Devils. Kara Voisine had three singles and two RBIs and Traci Underhill an RBI single.

At Coffin Field in Brewer, Christine Thoms had three doubles and drove in two runs and Meghan McLain tripled and doubled and had two RBIs as Brewer used a 16-hit attack to beat Lawrence of Fairfield.

Jordan McLain doubled and singled, Julie Lorenz had three singles, and Katie Quimby had two singles. McLain and Quimby had an RBI each.

McLain allowed five hits with eight strikeouts and five walks.

Heather Gilman had two base hits for Lawrence.

At Old Town, Liz Kiser smacked a two-run home run and Eva Shannon added a single and a double as Hampden downed Old Town.

Michelle Wells singled twice for the Broncos.

Devin Levesque hit an RBI single, and Holly Higgins and Erin Reardon each singled for the Coyotes.

Brittany King hit three singles and had three RBI, and Kelly Peers singled, doubled and drove in a run. Melanie Allen added two singles and an RBI for the winners.

Nick Hunnewell hit two singles and drove in four runs in the third to lead the Eagles. Ricky Trombley added two singles and an RBI.

Nick Hubbard doubled and singled, and Casey Hull hit two singles with an RBI for the Crusaders of Bangor.

At Bordick Park in Hampden, freshman righthander Shawn Smith pitched a seven-hitter as the Broncos earned the victory in a game that was moved from Old Town due to field conditions.

Smith struck out two and walked two, and was backed by an errorless defense.

Joel Neill and Jake Hitchings each doubled and singled twice to pace the Hampden offense, while Smith, Ian Lee and Danny McLean each singled twice.

Nathan Lonko singled twice for Old Town, while Brian Lonko tripled and scored on Cory Estes’ sacrifice fly.

Flannery doubled home a run in a two-run first inning rally and added an RBI single in the seventh.

Jake Smith had two singles for the winners.

Zach Deabay, Dustin Jalbert (RBI) and Brian Saucier singled for Hermon and Timmy Kenerson pitched a complete-game eight-hitter with eight strikeouts.

Joe Whitney led the Bulldogs with a solo home run while Jake Stevens had two singles and a double and Isaiah Roberts a double and single.

Fort Kent wins a pair

At Fort Kent, Bud Soucy had six hits, including three home runs, and drove in six runs as the Warriors defeated Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook 9-2 and Madawaska 10-2 in a doubleheader.

In the first game, Soucy had a two-run home run, a double and a single with three RBIs, while Tom Desjardins singled twice and Derek Bonenfant added a home run.

Tim Devaney pitched a six-hitter for the Warriors, allowing no earned runs.

Josh Branscome singled twice for Southern Aroostook.

In the second game, Soucy hit two home runs and a single and drove home three runs, while Desjardins hit a grand slam.

Madawaska had just two hits, singles by Paul Roy and Nathan Beaulieu in the fifth inning.
