BREWER – Junior Girl Scout Troop 388 and Brownie Troop 732, Brewer, chose the Brewer Christian Food Cupboard to be the recipient of their Gift of Caring cookies this year. While the girls were taking orders for Girl Scout cookies, customers were asked if they would like to buy any boxes of cookies to be donated to the Gift of Caring project.

This spring four girls, representing both troops, presented Jan Ashton, president of the food cupboard, with more than three cases of cookies. Ashton explained to the girls how much their donation would mean to the clients of the cupboard and gave the girls a tour of the facility.

Community service is an integral part of the activities of Junior Girl Scout Troop 388. In May, members will continue their tradition of serving a meal at Manna as part of the troop’s living out the Girl Scout Law to be “friendly and considerate, helpful and caring.”
