The fab five take on the strip

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas – unless the fab five from “Queer Eye” have anything to do with it.

To start off the fourth season, “Queer Eye” takes on three straight guys from the strip starting with Max Clever, a fire-eating magician whose dog is an Elvis impersonator.

And if that’s not strange enough, Max’s wife, Joni, makes G-string underwear for showgirls and likes to dye their poodle’s hair pink using Kool-Aid.

Their Death Valley house is a cluttered mess, which is complicated by their 109 doves, five dogs, two parrots, a rabbit, and four fish. No, there’s not a partridge in a pear tree – at least not yet.

In addition to fabricating one-of-a-kind G-strings, Joni is a talented painter and Max has called on the fab five to help make his spunky wife’s art opening a success. To make it all happen, Max needs to spruce up his act and even gets a little advice from a couple of the best.

I can’t believe the transformation, both in their appearance and in their self-confidence, that this crazy couple goes through. Even their house gets a knockout makeover that’s enough to make Joni cry a few tears and say a few naughty words of pure joy.

The end result – fabtastic!

The “Queer Eye” guys had slipped off my radar for a while, but it’s fun to see them let loose in Vegas. While I’m still a little amazed the show has made it this long, these guys still are funny. Tune in to the new season, Vegas style, at 10 p.m. Tuesday on Bravo.

Another one to watch is the new season of “So You Think You Can Dance,” which started May 25 on Fox. But don’t worry, if you haven’t tuned in yet, all you missed are the auditions.

The judges are slated to narrow it down to the final 10 males and 10 females at 9 p.m. June 7-8. The first performance will air during the show’s regular time slot at 9 p.m. Thursday, June 14.
